Then we got into the room, and we decided to stay all four days. It was, by far, the most spacious and different hotel we stayed in Egypt.The hotel is located near the Museum. You can visit walking, which is a big plus. Many stores and places to go from there, and the uber is not too expensive to most places. Zamalek (fancy neighborhood) is just 30 minutes from there with heavy traffic. It is true, however, that the place is insanely noisy. The rooms are not sound proofing. It was annoying even for me, who lives the whole life in front of an avenue.The service was great. The front desk guy was one of the, if not the, most kind person we met in Egypt. He was very attentive due to my stomach pain, helped me to replace the spicy soup I ordered at night and kept offering some tea for me. I wish he was promoted, he really deserves it. Thank you for being so kind and friendly with your guests. Oh, he very kindly microwaved my food, thank you so much.The room was very clean, the A/C was working nicely and the bathtub was quite comfortable (did not sit though). We were surprised by a toilet paper sculpture on the toilet vase, a charm I'd say.The breakfast was fine. The mint tea was fabulous, as well as the falafels.Overall, yet a little overpriced given its proximity to the points of interest, it was a nice room with a great front desk.

Noriane PELLEIEUX: ✨Pour avoir fait 3 hôtel au Caire, c'est de loin le meilleur rapport qualité prix !L'accueil était top.La chambre était PROPRE.La clim fonctionnait parfaitement.Pas trop bruyant.Nous n'avons malheureusement pas eu le temps de prendre un petit déjeuner mais pour 17€ (varie selon plate-forme de réservation) la nuit, il était compris.Si possible, évitez d'arriver entre 17h et 20h, les taxis partant de la gare seront hors de prix.PS : Vous pouvez le négocier entre 60 et 70 même si ils vous proposent 150 ou 200 de base.10min de taxi de la gare quand ça roule bien. Je recommande pour une nuit de passage 😊

Larissa Beier: Wir raten dringend von einem Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel ab!Wir waren 2 Tage lang dort und uns wurde Bargeld aus dem Gepäck im Zimmer gestohlen, obwohl das Zimmer abgeschlossen war und der Schlüssel bei der Rezeption war, die angeblich 24 Stunden am Tag besetzt ist.Am gleichen Tag wurde Bargeld von 2 weiteren Zimmern gestohlen.Wir sind überzeugt, dass diese Diebstählen keinen Zufall sind, sondern dass sie „systematisch“ vorgehen.Komischerweise waren die Safes in allen betroffenen Zimmern kaputt und wir haben auf den Bildern der Überwachungskameras gesehen, dass nur die Putzfrauen des Hotels in unserem Zimmer waren.Es war ganz eindeutig klar, dass der Diebstahl nur vom Hotelpersonal ausgeführt werden konnte und trotzdem kam von der Hotelleitung absolut keine Reaktion.Ein weiterer interessanter Hinweis: Das ganze Hotel (außer der Zimmer) wird von Videokameras überwacht, d.h. wenn man frühstückt, im Gang läuft, am der Rezeption ist usw. wird man von einer Videokamera ständig überwacht und die Bilder werden gespeichert.Über diesem Überwachungssystem werden die Gäste aber nicht informiert. Privacy ist ganz offensichtlich nicht sehr wichtig hier!Sollte jemand weitere Informationen haben möchten, kann er/sie mich gerne kontaktieren.We strongly advise against staying at this hotel!We were there for 2 days and had cash stolen from our luggage in the room, even though the room was locked and the key was at reception, which is supposedly staffed 24 hours a day.On the same day cash was stolen from 2 other rooms.We are convinced that these thefts are not a coincidence but that they are "systematic".Funnily enough, the safes in all the rooms concerned were broken and we saw on the CCTV pictures that only the hotel cleaners were in our room.It was very clear that the theft could only be carried out by the hotel staff and yet there was absolutely no reaction from the hotel management.Another interesting note: The whole hotel (except the rooms) is monitored by video cameras, i.e. when you have breakfast, walk in the corridor, are at the reception etc. you are constantly monitored by a video camera and the pictures are saved.However, the guests are not informed about this surveillance system. Privacy is obviously not very important here!If anyone would like more information, he/she is welcome to contact me.Nous déconseillons vivement de séjourner dans cet hôtel !Nous y sommes restés 2 jours et on nous a volé de l'argent liquide dans nos bagages dans la chambre, alors que la chambre était fermée à clé et que la clé se trouvait à la réception, qui est censée être occupée 24 heures sur 24.Le même jour, de l'argent liquide a été volé dans deux autres chambres.Nous sommes convaincus que ces vols ne sont pas le fruit du hasard, mais qu'ils sont "systématiques".Bizarrement, les coffres-forts de toutes les chambres concernées étaient cassés et nous avons vu sur les images des caméras de surveillance que seules les femmes de ménage de l'hôtel étaient présentes dans notre chambre.Il était très clair que le vol ne pouvait être effectué que par le personnel de l'hôtel et pourtant, il n'y a eu absolument aucune réaction de la part de la direction de l'hôtel.Autre remarque intéressante : tout l'hôtel (à l'exception des chambres) est surveillé par des caméras vidéo, c'est-à-dire que lorsque vous prenez votre petit-déjeuner, que vous marchez dans le couloir, que vous êtes à la réception, etc. vous êtes constamment surveillé par une caméra vidéo et les images sont enregistrées.Mais les clients ne sont pas informés de ce système de surveillance. james klausner: Talisman is a good budget hotel option in Cental Cairo. The rooms are classic and very clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There is no restaurant or bar, but breakfast is included. Had some internet connectivity issues. The staff packed breakfast to go when needed. I recommend this hotel to the budget conscious traveler looking to be in the heart of Cairo. Hotel signage is not evident and entryway is not obvious.

Sylvia Wu: Hotel is located in an area of downtown Cairo that does not have a lot of food options. It's located in a very old and rundown building. The hotel has interesting decor, but it's not well kept up. The bathrooms are not clean. Internet did not work. For $20 to $30 more one can stay at a clean five star hotel with many more amenities, so this hotel is not good value. Does not take credit card, which is a problem because most ATMs nearby can only dispense 2000 Egyptian pounds per day, which is only a little more than the nightly rate.
